Hi. My name is Kristie. I'm new to this list. I joined because I greatly admire Salinger and his writing. I even signed up to do a project on Salinger for my Senior Honors English class. I'm a bit stuck on the main ideas of each of the stories. I'm all set with A Perfect Day for Bananafish, P retty Mouth and Green My Eyes, and Teddy. My problem is with the rest of them. I'm writing a paper, and I've decided to focus on four of the nine stories. So if someone could help me relate another one of the stories to the loss of innocence, it would make me really happy. I'm thinking about De Daumier-Smith's Blue Period. Perhaps the nun symbolizes innocence? Could someone please help me with this? Thank you very much. Sincerely, Kristie
