I was a little perplexed about where that messianic complex comment came
from. Maybe the word you were looking for is closer to God-obsessed.
Though to many people this is more a goal than condition requiring medical
supervision. I think it was Ramakrishna who when asked while dying of an
ailment that he had demonstrated cures by mental power for earlier in life,
he replied he had spent his life learning how to focus his mind completely
on God and now they wanted him to concentrate on his sickness? (Sorry it's
so butchered)
Speculate is all I'll ever be capable of, I'm afraid. And I admit this one
is a little wishful on my part, but, I hope, an interesting one. I'm
certainly not suggesting anyone search Salinger out or anything like that.
I'm just imagining that he wishes for all of our company (in whatever form)
as much as we wish for his.
What was that about the Davega bicycle? Maybe it's at the end of SAI and
I'll come across it when I finish reading it later tonight.
