Salinger wrote a letter to the editor of the NY Post about incarceration
in New York State; it's available at the Post but is a pain-in-the-butt
to get. (I have a copy in my lost trove of documents; it's called
"Man-Forsaken Man," I think.)
The NY'er/Wolfe item was an essay that was REJECTED (!!!!) by the
Saturday Review, and there are no indications that it is available
anywhere. Unless he kept a copy for himself.
