Yes, Louise, YES! I think Salinger really wants the text to be the
author...I link this desire to Reader Response theory and the increasing
power of readers to be engage text in a variety of ways...what am I
saying? This list for example, goes beyond any classroom in the ways we
encounter Salinger texts...I understand Jim's desire to see Q's from the
text and not the author's life, but as much as Salinger may wish to
withdraw from the public and page, I don't think he can...not entirely,
