I have to agree with Mattis that the view of American Culture presented in
the movie is hardly to be applauded. They are all "bad guys" in that movie
once you step out of American culture and into a paradigm that transcends
it.

If the film has any opinion about its characters,
it's that of the voyeuristic pot-dealer, who
finds striking beauty in places most of us wouldn't
think to look. This film is anything but condemning.
