I loved Mansfield Park, too, although I didn't really see any similarities between Fanny and Esme. Then again, if something's not fresh on your mind, perhaps you're not as likely to notice it....
I think that this film has the interesting quality of being better than the book from which it was taken. I mean, have you read Mansfield Park? I love Jane Austen, but it's really a rather dull book.
