I've liked Matt's posts lately, but the connection of easter chick with
communion wafer and chicked sandwhich was (I thought) stretching it. I'd
tend to locate the meaning of those symbols in something a bit more affective
in the girl. That whatever feeling made it difficult for her to throw out or
bury a dead easter chick made it difficult for her to get rid of the chicken
sandwhich. I think the chick-chicken connection is meaningful here. And
that this still unidentified feeling sheds light on her feelings about the
Gangly Boy with the razor blade problem.
