Greetings and salutations!
I would fist like to thank all the kind Banafishers who started the earlier
thread regarding the theme of "feet" . There were many interesting
obervations including references to Rilke and the person who pointed out how
Seymour Glass would have his feet stomped on by that girl Charlotte (the
samew one who he threw a stone at) during the radio program.
When I finished RHTRBC the part where Buddy tells the Matron-of-Honor that
Seymour was a chiropodist jumped out at me. I'm willing to hear ANY
interpretation of this as am clueless. In S:AI we learn that when S was very
young Bessie would come around at night and check to see if he had two layers
of socks on. Someone may have already pointed this out, but other details are
his insistence that Zooey shine his shoes and his desire to destroy the
'grounded' trees. He injured his foot in Hapworth and is in a cast?
More non-sequitors to continue!
