Those were some pretty interesting comments. I don't know that I would give
Saligner **the** pre-eminent place, but certainly **a** pre-eminent place. I
don't know that anyone could have The spot, you know? I don't see how it's
possible, how in our society such a place could exist. But it sure wouldn't
belong to Baldwin over Pynchon, I can tell you that :)
