For the record, I have read every book by Salinger(not
his harder to find short stories), and agree that
people should read them and not just "Catcher".
Lately, I've started reading "Go Tell it on the
Mountain" by james baldwin, and I'm just amazed by it.
I also love my sociology 120(race & ethnic relations)
and History 105 (civilization from 1550 to present:
with a focus on religion, wars, literature, and the
arts) classes:)

Here's an interesting concept related to racism/ being
a phony. In sociology 120, we learned of the museum of
tolerance in L.A. The entrance to the museum has two
doors. One marked "prejudiced" and one marked "not
prejudiced." if you try to go through the "not
prejudiced" one, you find the doors locked and can't
get in. I like that. It's like saying everyone has a
little "phoniness" in them, probably even Holden Caulfield;)
