I would also mention the influence of Muriel's Mother. I can picture them 
gossiping and Muriel asking her why Seymour has not "seduced" her.
Her mother seemed to view Seymour as a 'prize'. that it was so wonderful that 
this dynamic personality chose her daughter. The way Seymour reacts to her is 
fantastic. Wondering about her blank expression regarding Muriels insistence 
that ketchup be at the table for S seemed to give him satisfaction, as did 
the "dead cat" comment.
Also I am still thinking about the gaze that S gave to his wife moments 
before the act. The smell of nail polish, new leather, so artificial...
Any other thoughts on this matter would be appreciated.
