Such bravery, Paul Kennedy. I worried about your safety as you sneaked your
contraband across the border to me. Would an eagle-eyed border guard see
your file folder and be savvy enough to examine the contents? I was on
tenderhooks until I saw you standing safely in the lobby of the Medici. You
can't mess with those guys. Take it from me. (I think they've finally
removed the wanted picture bearing my face at the Detroit/Windsor
crossing...)

Oh, and it's not a lost cause. Take it from me, this year is the year.
We've got pitching (Wood), we've got hitting (Sosa), and we've got fans
(me).

Right now, my face is flushed with pleasure at such an effusive compliment.
Thank you, Bruce.

Regards,
Cecilia.

ObSal: Bruce mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Salinger had made a
particularly poignant connection when mentioning that Corinne had Clara
Rilke's Rodin in "Inverted Forest." I couldn't agree more. I think that
the whole story bears a remarkable resemblance to that of RMR and his Clara.
