Perhaps you are making this question very difficult to answer
by already rejecting the excellent hypothesis that it is the
hypocrisy, and holier-than-thou attitude that we find repugnant.
By removing this from consideration, and asserting the dreadfulness
of 'spiritual' individuals, I can only wonder who you have in mind,
especially since you assert that we all embody normal human hypocrisy.

As a person who spends his professional life examining the
corruption of the human heart I have to imagine that you have
your own answer to this question, but I have to wonder, is
there something about the kind of people who are drawn
to you (professionally) in the first place?
