I expect it only confirms my membership of what William
would regard as one of the gerontocracies but I can hardly
contain my shock at hearing a teacher - an assistant professor,
no less - recommend we '... act against the oppression of knowledge'.
No doubt it has some subtly liberating connotation ('Down
with the Rools !') But it sounds as if it belonged more in the
mouth of a Dr Goebbels; or perhaps, one of Orwell's Big Brother
newspeakers.
