Eric said: > I suppose we should all live it enough to say with assurance "I don't want > that!" Don't mind my rambling... I'm surprised at how often people self-consciously apologize for their comments at the end of their messages. I think this list has often turned interesting when someone goes off on a tangent that has some connection with the list's subject. I'm speaking as a reader and subscriber, not as the list-owner; unless the tangents become ludicrous, these are good things, not bad, I suggest. But then, while I don't push my fingers around in ashtrays, as a Glass would, I believe I prefer the meandering streets and alleys (literally and metaphorically) at least as much as I enjoy the avenues and boulevards. The point here is: don't feel you have to apologize when you have something good to share. If people disagree with you, they will do it in response to your remarks, as we so often see -- and with some civility, we hope. --tim o'connor
