The problem, I think, is that peace, love, and understanding are futile in World Politics, which itself is a religion of war, hate, and ignorance, while those who truly believe in peace, love, and understanding have no use for World Politics. After all, whether we all die from anthrax or from excessive love making, we still die. Some of us will die fighting for invisible, unsubstantial political systems, and some of us will die loving each other and being loved. Very fluffy and cute, right? I'd rather live fluffy and cute and enjoy my life than be cynical and angry and die anyway.
