No Patti, you aren't alone. Welcome to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, home
of...well, for some strange reason we have a lot of tumble weed during the
fall, and even part of the winter (when the snow melts off...there it goes!
rolling across Hwy. 37 again!).

I'm interested to know if this little "bananafish gathering" is a serious
consideration or if we're all just proposing it to give us something to
write about rather than sit on our chairs with our hands under our bums...

Well, I shouldn't wonder anyway...doubt I could afford to go, seeing as how
I spend most of my money on books and very little of it on groceries!

jessica (once again distracted by her tummy...quit rumbling, will you?) ;)

Ob Salinger...I always thought (esp. from his letter to Zooey) that Buddy
was trying to adopt a lot of Seymour onto himself, rather than projecting
himself onto Seymour...I mean, yeah, he did seem to be trying to justify
what Seymour did and make it "all better," but at the same time it seemed
(by the way that he kept the phone in NY so that he could see Seymour's
name in the phonebook) that he just wanted Seymour to be around again, and
this was his way of doing it. I think he took a lot of what Seymour had
said and done in the past to heart, and maybe he saw something beautiful
inside of Seymour that the rest of us might not have, and he wanted to have
that something, to BE that something...

sorry, rambling again...
