ObSalinger: I FINALLY FINISHED F&Z! I have to admit that is was one of the slowest readings I've come across, but it made me think like a lot of the books I've read recently have failed to do. I agree with the comment that somebody made about a whiff of pregnancy in the first few pages and then ignoring the rest of the book...I feel the same way towards the idea of Franny being pregnant. Non-Salinger: I've been up since noon yesterday...goodnight, folks. na na na boo boo to you, too, John. jessica, the reincarnated hippie (although far removed from woodstock) p.s. wouldn't bethel have been a better choice? p.p.s....you know how in F&Z they discuss their images of the Fat Lady? We have a woman in my hometown who I instantly thought of...she sits on the front stoop of her apartment building all day long, never moves even an inch. I saw her jay-walking across the street once...I came to a complete stop and just stared in amazement, as it was the first time I'd ever seen her move. That and she was moving so slowly that if I hadn't slowed down I surely would have hit her.
