I posted the question to bananafish before, but you guys must not like me 
or something, because my posts usually end up ignored. 
The Franny Is Pregnant Theory holds NO support whatsoever. To say that 
she is pregnant then we may as well dismiss Seymour as a Manic-Depressive 
Pedophile, Buddy as Obsessive Compulsive, and Holden as "a stupid kid who 
needs to wake up to reality." Walt is a masochist, Muriel is a battered widow,
and Salinger is simply creating a Sherwood-esque psychological study on 
genius children and where it gets them...
