the Village

I believe I *may* have asked this question before, but I'm not sure if I 
did so I'm just gonna ask it. 

Does anybody on this list go to NYU, the New School, and/or live in the 
Village? If so, what do you think Holden would think about our 
neighborhood? Indeed, there were many scenes in various Salinger books 
that described, sometimes in vivid detail, NYC neighborhoods (the now 
Yuppie'ized Upper West Side, comes to mind). The Village, however, seemingly 
escaped any mention in Salinger's novels (as far as I could tell, that is). 
So, the question remains, what do you think Holden or any other Salinger 
character would think about the Village and all of its trappings?! =)
