Brendan: This is an intriguing idea, wordplay that I considered in the
past, and that I believe merits some consideration now -- but as a NYC kid
myself, I always marvelled at how many of the "better" apartment buildings
(certainly in the neighborhood the Glasses [and the Salingers] lived) had
air conditioners made by a company called Fedders.  (No apostrophe in
there, I believe.)  So, whenever I saw the surname "Fedder," my connection
to it was, "Ah, they must be the family that owns the A/C company."

Anyhow, as Mrs. Fedder would no doubt say, "Go figure."
