Hear hear. Although I have serious qualms about the closing down of the Holden Server, as what it stood for and provided was good and just and possibly Salinger/his lawyers Just Weren't Being Fair, I have even more serious ones about deliberately offering a mid-finger salute to the man (which I would do no matter whether I liked or respected the author or not). Please regard him as a human being rather than a loose, rather cartoonish Lady-Shalottesque construct of our own minds. Lets remember he's entitled to do what he does and what's more, no one's entitled to mock someone for doing what they believe is right. > I've thought about the issue of Salinger's demand for privacy for a > while and my thought is: if you admire the writing, respect the > writer('s wishes, whatever they may be). > > - Marta Camille verona_beach@geocities.com @ THE ARTS HOLE http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Theater/6442 @ THE INVERTED FOREST http://www.angelfire.com/pa/invertedforest
