This is very dreadful of me but let's just pretend that this poem is anonymous and I didn't post it at all. Maybe by not including the poet's name I will exempt myself from any bad karma. It's churlish and Mean I know but I just wanted to let you know how diabolical university poetry can get by posting this one - published in all seriousness in a big serious poetry anthology in - let's say A University - which rejected a story of mine which was later picked up by ABC radio which payed me several thousand dollars for it. So good triumphs over mediocrity (hopefully) Anyway here it is. `Nothing in The World - Parts I, II and III Part I The baby looked happy As I carried it >From the burning building. Part 2 I started burning down buildings Because nothing in the world Beats happy babies Part 3 Except for maybe Being drunk.' Exit stage left. There was a worse one but it was too long and soul-destroying to recount.
