I could go back and count, but I think I used the word "beautiful" at least
half a dozen times in connection with the two "Cs".... THAT they were indeed!
(Thinking it over, I also remember referring to both as "blondes"--which
might not be entirely accurate. Where do I remember reading a story about
the Emperor of China sending someone into the countryside to find him a new
horse? Off went the man on his assignment. When he returned several months
later, the Emperor asked if he'd found the horse--the strongest and fastest
horse in all the empire. "Oh yes", replied the man....
"What colour was it?", asked the Emperor.
"Dapple", said the man...
"And was it a stallion or a mare?"
"A mare," said the man....
Two weeks later, a chestnut stallion arrived at the palace. It was indeed
the fastest and the strongest horse in all the Middle Kingdom. The Emperor
was happy that his assignment had been fully realized. But he was angry
that the man had apparently deceived him.
The punchline is that the Emperor had not been deceived. Such extraneous
details as colour and gender are utterly insignificant.)
