Gawd, that was a great post, Bruce.
I don't see Buddyisms in Catcher. I think Holden is ostensibly the author of Catcher in the same way Buddy is of Zooey.
Otherwise, I don't see why Salinger couldn't have made Franny F.G. in retrospect. Those facets of the story are open ended enough to allow her to have been Holden's sister if Salinger wanted (although other stories wouldn't allow this, I don't think).
Course, I don't trust my memory for details here, you're better off asking Elizabeth :)
