Please let me correct what I was worried might be misinterpreted. I did
not view Scottie's post as derogatory, but to the contrary. However,
I was worried about the inevitability of tongue-in-cheek, patent,
silliness going unrecognized (for those of you who have never read
Vonnegut, or are put off by his occasional cuteness, I suggest reading
Mother Night, a very different, disturbing, masterful work about someone
who took on an U.S. Intelligence mission which required him to work
as a prominent Nazi propagandist - or then again go watch the movie
"The Producers").
My comments, while addressed to Scottie, meant no more than to point out
the huge amount of ignorance in the world and its sometimes humorous,
sometimes not, consequences.
As for what I'm like when I'm upset, I'm somewhere between Tim's and Scottie's
patients. But I never get p'ed off.
