Ode on a Grecian Jello
(with apologies to Keats)

Thou still unravished bride of sugarness,
Thou foster-child of boiling water and refrigerators,
Lusty desert, who canst thus express
A jiggly tale more sweetly than cake,
What fruit-fring'd legend haunts about thy shape
of green and red, or of both,
covered in whipped cream on my loving plate?
What men or gods formed these succulent desserts,
Why mad pursuit, why struggle to escape?
O sybaritic jello! What wild ecstasy!
