Finally getting round to answering this post after the prompting from
Scottie.
I don't know if experiences like that of Holden are hugely common, but
I do know people who have found themselves in similar situations. I
would guess, though, that Holden's life (in boarding school for much of
the time) would make such experiences more likely. Also, nowadays we
are probably more aware of such problems, and therefore both Holdens
and the Mr Antolini's are more cautious.
