(I was dying to run into Hakeem after meeting
Elizabeth and Mattis, simply for the sake of me
walking up to him and asking him if he felt like he
needed to crap anytime soon.)

**LOL - That's something Holden would have thought
about saying, great minds laugh alike.

All I will say about Mattis is that he is a genuine
sweetheart kind of guy, late 40ish. Woody Allen with
a life.

**Hah. How do you know he is "Mattis" and not Thomas
Pynchon.

I asked the man at the counter if he saw anyone come
in holding a banana. He chuckled a bit and said "No,"

**It's New York buddy, he wudda said 'No' to anything
you asked him.

then took our order after I informed him that E and I
were starting a New Cult.

**It's New York and who gives a damn except it's all
changed since the Dodgers left.

I'll never read Mattis' or E's posts the same again :)

**Especially since he just might be the guy who wrote
about Oedipa and Mucho Maas.

rub some F-yous off the wall

**They're all spray painted on today.

...the Museum of Natural History ... I was impressed
with what I saw.

**It's great, anyone who grew up in greater New York
was taken there on elementary school field trips in a
caravan of bingity bangity Yellow school buses (no
seatbelts or bike helmets then either).

I just strolled about Central Park a bit...

**If you passed the white band shell on the East side
that's where I saw a knockout free concert by the
Grateful Dead in June '69.

Walked, all the way back to Penn Station ...

**It's a wonderful city for walking :)

I deserve to be carried everywhere else for the rest
of my life.

**We Fishers can do a remake of the King and I, then
you can be carried on some kind of litter.

> Love the city, though ;)

**Oh Yeah!

Thanks for your account Jim. I'm looking forward to
the next time.
