Music is more sensory than reading. It registers quicker in the brain.
Sounds make you feel emotions quick than a written word does. Music can
stir imaginations just as well and any book. People respect musicians
because they're good at what they do. Try and write any music lately?
S'hard.
I agree about the music of today. Most of it it garbage. Most heavy metal,
rap, and popular (ESPECIALY popular) music is garbage. Meaningless fluff.
Really terrible stuff. But when you look in between the lines at complex
music, especially stuff with a lot of synthesizer things, or just a lot of
instruments in general, it's really admirable what some people can do. As
for the naked genius thing, whenever someone does something different from
the norm they become a genius. Who knows why, but they do. It's some kind
of anti-establishment statement I guess.
And now... My point:
Don't judge music by what you see on MTV or head on Z100, because it's
all conformist bullshit and none of them write their own stuff (Ricky
Martin, Britney, N'Sync, etc....)
