Valérie, thanks many times over for providing us with details about
this play. Like you, I plunged into a search engine and found more
details about the playwright (including the bit about his name), and
also like you I found that it is unclear whether the play has been
translated.
I share Scottie's reluctance to embrace translations, but being
Francophonically challenged 8-), I can either read a translation or
not read it at all. (Gone are the days of learning a language to read
an author in the original ... for me, anyway.) I studied German to
read Kafka in the original, but somehow along the way realized that
I would need to dedicate far too much time for me to be able to pick
up the nuances of his use of language, and that I was better off
trusting in the skills of a good translator than trying to do it
myself. Besides, where to draw the line? There would need to be
French for Proust, German for Kafka, Russian for all those great
Russian writers, and so on.
So, I shall await the translation. Please pass along to us anything
you may find in terms of further news. I am sure that many people
here who prefer to remain silent are incredibly grateful to you for
providing this information to us all.
