1. happy reading a borrowed copy
2. purchasing a paperback
3. ...a hardback
4. ...a first-edition hardback
5. ... a signed first-edition hardback
6. ...an inscribed association first-edition hardback
(say, pound's copy of eliot's 'waste land')
7. ...the mss.
