I do not have the original post available, so perhaps I am wrong to take
issue with your adjective, "sniveling". One need not be averse to the challenge
of good writing to be frustrated by the task of writing an ingratiating
essay, upon which one's future may twist, for a group of reviewers who
may not even know a good cigar end when they see one.
