I didn't know that at all....and even if he was just a patsy, its an odd
coincidence. 
I think maybe that it Salinger's fans (fanatics?) are a little more sensitive
to certain things...and in many cases I've thought I would go crazy because of
them. Maybe they did...

then there's the other side, which is that, in a classical sense, the "Typical
Salingerian Issue" is that of the outsider who is better than the rest of the
world, and how the rest of the world may never know it....typical thoughts, I
would think, for anyone who was an american communist in the 50's, or any wide
variety of psychological disturbances, or outcasts.
