since I train college professors, I must disaggree with your 
claim about college professors "who don't get anything."  It is quite
typical that a weak writer will suppose the professor doesn't "like me" or
doesn't like "my style" when the reality is the young writer still needs
to master some basic elements of communication. Most professors don't have
time to really like or dislike students the way you imply, nor do most
students have such developed styles as they imagine are being objected
to...get real!  Writing works beyond that silly shit if it's good writing.
If you think that your real beliefs and self can't be "sold" in your essay
because of what they are, then I feel sorry for you because you are living
with values that are not linked to your soul...if on the other hand, you
haven't yet found the way to express your inner truth, then I suggest,
like the rest of us, you continue trying and place less blame on others so
the challenge of articulating your meaning falls strongly on you alone.
