>I dont see why a TEEN Salinger list must be any different then any other >Salinger list? > > first of all, let me say that as a human being i am currently 13. when i first joined this list around late june, there was the usual amount of tangents, but with a hell of a lot more critical study of the works we all love. no offense, but one of the things i have noticed is that a lot of new members who came during one of our increasingly frequent digressions would fail to see our sometimes superb critiques. it is not singularly teens. that do this, although i will admit that salinger attracts a huge teen following with catcher, and that we have seen in increase in teen membership simply because it is fall, more people go and get online at college, and sign on here. i think we *need* digressions. what else are we going to talk about? salinger has published four books over the past forty years or so, his publisher is teasing us with Hapworth 16 (the new book. not the aol subscriber of a similiar name.) and the man won't publish anymore! for this list to be healthy and growing i think 10-50 pertinent messeages a day would be great. happy new year, randy
