I was just at this sort of "Find Out What Your Name Means" page, and I looked up Holden. It tells us that Holden is an Anglo-Saxon/ Germanic name that means "From the Hollow"... It sent shivers down my spine. Anyone like to comment? I've heard that Holden can be interpreted as a play on words: Holdin', perhaps as a consequence (and even perhaps an ironic consequence) to Catchin'. I'm sure this topic has been beat to death in the past, but I'd like to know: what sort of significance do you find in Salingerian names?
