Well, I've finally done it...I've tackled the unknown...Franny & Zooey. (Found a copy at Border's for $5 and couldn't put it back on the shelf!) I've been at it on and off for several hours now and haven't made all too much progress (Zooey is still reshaving his face and talking to Bessie)...I guess I'm just reading slow tonight. As for what I think so far: I really think there should be more from Franny's side of the story. I realize that I'm not very far into it but so far the Zooey side has been, to say the least, difficult to follow. (maybe it's just that I haven't had much sleep as of late) Not to dig up what's already been buried, but I think I have to disagree with the arguement that Franny's pregnant (at least so far). I'll probably see things differently when I finish the book, but so far it seems that she's trying to *feel* what Seymour felt and understand why he did what he did. The whole business with the religious books she found in Seymour's room and all... I think I should just end it there...catch me in a few days and I'll be able to better explain my theory. jessica =)
