Hello Mike, I wouldn't worry about writing anything particularly awe-inpiring. For me, awe is where I look for it - I am still worried about what is going to happen to Rose in her difficult situation. If I am not moved to awe, then it is something related on the distaff side when I consider that upon having finished Zooey, one of your first reactions was to tell us all about it. I have written before that one of the chief pleasures of this list is the feeling I get reading a Salinger story, and realizing that there is a lovely group of friends I've never met who come as close to understanding what I'm feeling at this moment, as anyone ever will. I hope you are feeling better after your episode in the delivery room. I would caution you, though, that if reading F&Z inspires fainting spells, you should probably stay away from A Perfect Day for Bananafish, eh? all the best, Mattis
