Dear Ellen:

Many, many people on this list may go into shock at the mere idea of
this, but I've had a similar problem on other listserves too! :)

First off, I want to say Tim amazingly handles all fires without the
least attempt to censor anything. Out of all the listserves I've been
on, this one seems to be the best in this regard.

But I'm pretty sure that there's really no action you can take other than
to unsubscribe. Each list has its own personality and ethic, and is made
up of its own kind of readers. The Joyce list seemed to have more
scholars than I've ever seen on one listserve and fewer "amateur
readers," while this list seems the most eclectic. The CS Lewis list had
an interesting balance of Lewisophytes, Scholars, and armchair apologists
but at times it seemed run with the mentality of a nervous housewife
afraid of her kids arguing. You just have to take what you get and live
with it...
