Dead Horses Galore. . . Ok, I finished it. Enjoyed it a lot. Yes, the 21st chapter was Indispensable. If he had just left off being the same old nadsat he was before he'd be denying the reality of choice just as much as if he'd reformed through the use of conditioning his responses. I thought the scene where he got sick reading the Bible due to his conditioning was especially apropos :) The most interesting thing about the book was its use of language, of course, but most of the meaning seemed pretty well right on the surface. Besides the language it's probably the least sophisticated of all the Burgess I've read so far. The dual introductions were especiallly entertaining ;) But it twas an enjoyable read and his point was well taken....
