archive + searching

Subject: archive + searching

While in transit, I belatedly put up the June archive -- slim pickings,
this month! -- and indexed it. I promised last month that I'd provide
a list of the eight most common words, which are ignored in the search
index.

(Those that are word stems are ignored in all their linguistic
formations, so "message," "messages," and "messaging" would be all
ignored.)

I also found that a search term needs to be at least five characters
long -- that's why "foot" turns up no hits.

The ignored list is:

archiv, author, bananafish, messag, previou, repli, subject, thread

Some are not much of a surprise, I guess....

Cheers to all.
