I'm a 23-year-old Swedish English lit student, writing an essay
comparing how Salinger changed his views concerning the possibility of
connecting to a phoney society, comparing the messages of Catcher and
tracing the development to F&Z. I'm caurrently trying to write intro
and conclusion, should have finished it in June but I've worked my
butt off this summer, so I suppose now my tutor hates me. She didn't
want me writing about Salinger in the first place, but I convinced her
:)
Salinger has been my favourite since I was 14 and read RHTR,C. I
almost dare not confess that I have so far not been able to get a hold
of Hapworth, but in my understanding it is to be republished in
November? I'm known for making, in my opinion, rather insignificant
and somewhat naive posts to this lists. I have also been hinted to
that such a self-effacing attitude is not appreciated :)
Incidentally, my nearest body of water is approximately 6 metres away,
Skagerakk, the part of the Atlantic and thus the North Sea that is
closest to the westcoast of Sweden.
