So, Zazie, you have been to America, right? I'm just checking because it
would certainly be dumb and ignorant to rant about a country and its
populace based on what you saw on TV. Kind of like me calling the Dutch
a bunch of hash smoking, heroin addicted, bike stealing, prostitutes
based on having seen "Truth, Lies, and Democracy".
To someone from the states, it seems kind of odd to generalize about
Americans - we are, as I'm sure know, a famously heterogeneous bunch.
Gosh, I was strolling down Ocean Drive in South Beach Miami last week,
and I didn't hear a single word of English for 5 blocks.
In fact, as I stroll down the hallways of this infamous American
corporation where I work, every other person I pass is from somewhere
else - England, China, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Poland, Israel,
Germany, Romania, Russia, Mexico, Korea, Ireland, Scotland, Costa Rica,
Australia, Thailand, Japan, even friendly Canada! And that's just in my
hallway.
Better bring some extra paint for those protest signs!
