How marvellous to think of old Jerry rising from behind
the gauzy bedroom hangings, then into the foaming
suds of the whirlpool - before settling down to add
yet another chapter to his indictment of The Phoney.
Or maybe in 1950 you couldn't think for the noise
of the beavers gnawing on the timber.
