Does he? I didn't know that.

Some things that I always thought were interesting synchronicities about
Salinger and Chicago might, then, have more meaning. For instance, if
you go to the Art Institute on Michigan Avenue, you might notice that at
the corner of Monroe & Michigan, they've renamed it "Swami Vivekananda
Way" in honor of the visit of the Vedanta guru during the World's Fair
in 1832. The Swami delivered one of his most famous teachings, the frog
and the well, in the main foyer of the Art Institute. Students of
Vedanta Hinduism make the pilgrimage all the time, just to stand in the
spot where he stood.

Something else that is interesting. A half-block West of Swami
Vivekananda Way is a half-street, an alley really, called Holden Court.
No kidding. I always get a chuckle out of the name.

I live less than an hour away from Lake Geneva, by the way. Sigh.

Regards,
Cecilia.
