Try using a quote from Raise High the Roof Beam,
Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction. It should
deal with the way Seymour clings to Muriel and loves
her despite all of her shortcomings. I forgot which of
the two stories mentioned it, but I think it was the
first one where Buddy reads Seymour's diary.
