All this exuberant life in the moderns seems a little forced like a face
below water, the suffocated gasping for air that does not refresh. The
double shot of Scotch is first poured all in the name of a good time, hey

Woolf did indeed like having a good time. Her nephew records
a party in which her and her sister (the biographer's mother :) )
