'... it was my fault for not providing more context to begin with.
    Your response is nonsensical ..'

Churchill said something to the effect that: 'In war, the truth must
be guarded by a regiment of lies.' Apparently in academia it demands
also a bolstering retinue of citations. 'The cat sat on the mat'
can only be understood in all its full richness when we've heard
from Jenkins (Oxford) on sedentary cats, from Minet (Sorbonne)
on mats of the late Persian empire & from Hengstenberg (Princeton)
    on the feline pelvic girdle.

'Context, context!' Jim shouts at us. 'See, you're thinking's as sloppy
as ever! Tote that barge! Lift that bale!' No one & nothing -
from the half crazy William Blake to Everyman's common sense -
is safe from his Dreadfull Dissekting Knife: otherwise known as
the analysis that killeth not but, as John assures us, giveth life.

Ingratiating smilies & fixed-grin condescensions often give
a strange impression of inner rage. Similarly, relentless displays
of logic-chopping & other men's wisdom suggest nothing so much
as a nagging sense of self-doubt.

Take it easy, for Pete's sake. We're only having an ould chat.

    Scottie B.
