     Holden and Tom
     
     Jonathan Taylor Thomas played Tom Sawyer in the movie "Tom & Huck" and 
     now he'd like to portray another bad boy from American literature -- 
     Holden Caufield from "Catcher in the Rye." In fact, if he could 
     direct, Thomas told The Dallas Morning News that he'd like to buy the 
     rights to "Catcher in the Rye." "I know I'm behind millions of people and 
     J.D. Salinger is a recluse but it's an incredible book," he says. "I 
     shold write him a letter but I don't know where to mail it." Thomas, 
     16, who's currently promoting the movie "Wild America" while on hiatus 
     from "Home Improvement," says he likes Tom and Holden because "they're 
     both sort of social misfits because neither of them think they 
     belong."
